VAS Ltd COMPETITIONS

Regulations:
a.An exhibitor may represent only one Society at Group level and one Group at State level.
b.An article having won at a Show will compete at a Group Final; the winning article will then compete at the next Royal Melbourne Show.
c.The Melbourne Group 14 winner of the current Show will compete as a finalist in the following State Final at the Royal Show.
d. An article having won a State Final, is no longer eligible to compete in the competition.
e. Each article entered must be the bona fide work of the exhibitor.
f. If for any reason a winner is unable to compete at Group or State Final levels, the second placegetter is eligible to compete.
g. A person will not be permitted to win at more than one Show within the State in any one Show year. Persons not adhering to this rule will be required to forfeit/refund prize money.
h. All work to have been completed within the last twelve (12 months).

1- VAS Ltd Hand Embroidery Competition.An Article of hand embroidery, any type, (excluding cross stitch). State Final Prizes: Spotlight Vouchers: 1st. $300 plus VAS Ltd Plaque; 2nd. $150 ; 3rd $50. (Refer to above VAS Ltd Regulations)
2-VAS Ltd Hand Crochet Competition. Crochet article made from pure wool / wool blend of any ply.State Final Prizes: Spotlight Vouchers: 1st. $300 ; 2nd. $150 ; 3rd $50. (Refer to above VAS Ltd Regulations)
3-Crochet Article to be made from No.20 Cotton (W.A.S.A. Competition)
4-Baby's crochet jacket.
5-Crochet rug.
6-VAS Ltd Hand Knitting Competition.Handknitted jumper or cardigan made from pure wool/ wool blend, any ply and must have attached label from wool used or label and receipt from Woollen Mill. State Final Prizes: Spotlight Vouchers: 1st. $300 ; 2nd. $150 ; 3rd $50. (Refer to above VAS Ltd Regulations)
7- Baby's hand-knitted Matinee Jacket in 3 or 4 ply Yarn, (label must be attached). (W.A.S.A. competition.)
8- Crochet / hand-knitted article in wool / wool blend. Any Ply (W.A.S.A. competition)
9-Adult's knitted jumper or cardigan, thick yarn.
10-Child's knitted jumper or cardigan, thick yarn.
11- Child's knitted jumper or cardigan, 5 ply yarn.
12- Child's knitted garment, 4 ply or under.

22-Adult casual outfit to be judged on general effect, cut, style, material and craftsmanship. Hand finishing allowed. (W.A.S.A. competition)
23-Garment in stretch fabric, 2 pieces allowed, applique allowed. (W.A.S.A. competition.)
24-Adult's Windcheater.
25-Stretch sewing, child's garment.
26-Any other machine-made garment or article.

38- VAS Ltd Patchwork Competition: Piece of Patchwork, no more than 1 metre on any one side, machine pieced and machine quilted, only finished articles will be accepted. State Final Prizes: Spotlight Vouchers: 1st. $300 Plus VAS Ltd Plaque; 2nd. $150 ; 3rd $50. (Refer to above VAS Ltd Regulations)
39- Small article in Hand-Sewn Patchwork, to be no bigger than 100cm x 50cm.

45-One Woman's Work (6 distinct articles to be completed by exhibitor within 12 months prior to Donald Show Day, to be entirely the work of the exhibitor). A card stating the 6 articles being exhibited to be attached. Entries in the other sections of the Show not eligible to form part of this exhibit. First $10 and voucher donated by Nancy Pukeroa, second $5.
46-Three distinct articles for a Fete made by one exhibitor, no cookery. Price Limit: $8 per article (sale price). Price to be stated on attached card.First $3, second $2 Donated by Donald CWA.
47-VAS Ltd Spotlight State Sewing Competition The garment/outfit to be made by the exhibitor. Garment/Outfit of wearing apparel (maximum 3 pieces) constructed in fabric using natural fibre or fibre blend. Sewn by machine. May be hand finished. Accessories such as scarves, stoles, shawls, gloves etc. are not acceptable. Knitted/crocheted items not acceptable. (Refer to above VAS Ltd Regulations) Competition to be conducted at Society, Group and State level. * Society Level Prizes: First $10, Second $5 * Group Level First Prize: $50 Voucher. *State Final Prizes: Spotlight Vouchers :First Prize $300 plus VAS Ltd Plaque; 2nd Prize $150, 3rd Prize $50.
